Participants are invited to attend the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, one of the most iconic events in New Mexico. This internationally recognized festival features hundreds of hot air balloons launching at sunrise, creating a truly memorable visual experience. Our group will plan to attend the morning session together. As this event begins before sunrise, we will plan to meet at a Park & Ride location at approximately 5:00 AM. 

In addition to the balloon launches, the Balloon Fiesta Park offers a wide range of activities throughout the day. Guests can explore a vibrant Main Street area featuring numerous vendors, including local food booths, coffee stands, and New Mexican specialties such as breakfast burritos and green chile dishes. 

Visitors can also enjoy: 

• Artisan and craft vendors offering handmade goods, jewelry, and artwork  

• Live music and entertainment on multiple stages throughout the park  

• Interactive exhibits, including the Balloon Discovery Center with educational and hands-on activities  

• Demonstrations and specialty events, such as chainsaw carving and cultural performances  

• Souvenir and merchandise tents for festival keepsakes  

Depending on the schedule, additional highlights may include special shape balloons, glow events, or other featured programming, making this a full-day experience beyond the morning launch. 

This is an optional, self-funded activity and is not part of the formal workshop program.

• Park & Ride (Recommended): Includes round-trip transportation + admission  

• Advance purchase: ~$30 per adult  

• Day-of purchase: ~$33+ per adult  

Park & Ride is strongly recommended to avoid traffic and parking challenges and provides convenient shuttle access to the event.
