Our next AASI Member Forum will be held on Thursday, 7 November at 11am Eastern (USA) / 5pm Central European (CET).
This Forum is being presented by Boston Children’s Hospital and is on Child Life Perspective.
The PawPrints Program at Boston Children’s Hospital provides hospitalized patients and their families with a healthy diversion from the usual hospital routine and an opportunity for social interaction and in some cases physical activity. Pawprints provides the opportunity to experience the unconditional love, attention and sense of security of an animal visit.
Objectives of the presentation include:
- Understand what a child life specialist might be assessing during an animal assisted therapy visit
- Be able to identify “key points” in room that are important to the child life specialist and dog handler during a pediatric hospitalization visit
