Accreditation

Accreditation is a formal recognition that an organization meets specific standards of quality and competence. It provides several benefits, such as:

  1. Credibility and Trust: Accreditation assures clients, customers, or patients that an organization meets industry-recognized standards.
  2. Proven Commitment to Excellence: Accreditation ensures that the organization maintains professionalism, credibility, ethical best practices, and high welfare standards in providing animal assisted services.
  3. Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Some industries require accreditation to operate legally or receive funding. Being accredited may also protect against legal concerns. 
  4. Improved Opportunities: Accredited professionals often have better job prospects. Once accredited, organizations may apply to become a mentor to support other practitioners providing AAS.
  5. Guided Support for Quality Improvement: Expert mentors and assessors guide you through the process, identifying strengths and areas for development. 
  6. Higher Standards of Quality and Safety: Accreditation ensures that businesses, schools, or healthcare providers maintain high standards in their services and increases accountability. 
  7. Competitive Advantage: Accreditation can set a business apart from competitors, making it more attractive to customers and partners.
  8. Access to Funding and Contracts: Accredited organizations are trusted high quality providers more likely to be attractive to funders, partnerships, and clients. Some grants, government contracts, and insurance reimbursements are only available to accredited entities.
